Hirven Woodworks' "Single Flower Vase (Test Tube Type)" is a vase that quietly captures those small joys of everyday life.

Antique test tubes deepen the color of flowers

The set comes with a real brown test tube used in experiments.
By deliberately choosing brown glass instead of clear glass, the color of the wildflowers stands out and the whole piece has a somewhat antique feel.

Because they are made using scrap wood, each vase has different grain, color, and texture, and that is what makes them so appealing.
This is a simple vase that quietly exudes the warmth of handcrafted work.

The atmosphere changes subtly depending on where you place it and how the light enters. It blends subtly into the space and makes the flowers look even more attractive.

Carving out a shape that captures the life cycle of a tree

The hirven woodworks atelier is located in Yasakacho, Hamada City, Shimane Prefecture, a small mountain town where high-quality hardwoods grow naturally. The craftsmen personally select from among the felled trees and carve only the most suitable parts.

The pieces are made on a woodworking lathe, with a blade applied to the rotating wood to create the shape of each piece, so although they may look the same, they all have slightly different expressions. The bottom is especially carefully finished to create the appearance of "floating."
